Welcome to Little Flutterby! I’m Laura, a full time Mum to two Jessica, 7 and George, 4. Little Flutterby is my own creative outlet combining my love for craft and design. I have always been quite career driven and ambitious, so after deciding to be a stay at home mum, I needed something that was just for me.
Whilst I have a head full of ideas and plans to make Little Flutterby into something bigger and better, I’ve also had to come to accept that with two young children in tow, there is only so much time in the day, so this website, this journey is very much a working progress for me.
All of my items are all lovingly handcrafted by me, at my home in Glen Parva, Leicester. My work is everyday simple, yet effective and it is my aim to build up a range of quality gifts, keepsakes and decorations for seasonal events and special occasions.
Thank you for supporting my journey! Laura xx
My work history
After completing a BTEC National Diploma in Graphic Design, I originally started out as a graphic designer/artworker. I worked mostly in producing artwork for the UK and the Far East, also working with graphics, print and branding, style guides and brochures, working with a range of high street retailers and at the time the companies own brand development of handmade greetings cards, stationary and fashion jewellery.
After being made redundant, I took an opportunity as a junior web designer. I learnt the ropes of designing and building websites for small local businesses and trades, all of which were built to the latest industry guidelines at the time. During this time I also went back to college in the evenings and completed a foundation degree in Graphics and E-media. I developed myself as a team leader and then combined a wide range of skills from marketing, sales, search engine optimisation, building customer relationships, team and project management.
